Acupuncture?

If you're hesitant about trying acupuncture, I can understand. There seems to be quite a lot of misinformation in regards to this over three thousand year old traditional modality of healing.  So, what is acupuncture? And how can it enhance your life?

Acupuncture is a modality that is centred around the body's Qi (or life energy).  Qi can evolve between being stagnant, stuck, weak, or depleted, depending on how life is going for you at that moment in time.  In Chinese Medicine, your Qi is related to what is happening in your life, in combination with the seasons, or the weather in which you may be living, or the food or drink you may be consuming.

There are multiple meridians in the body which coincide with our organs.

By inserting hair-like needles into these specific organ or meridian related areas, this stimuli signals to your nervous system to pay more attention to these places.  I will be able to change the energy of these areas-  to either calm or sedate the area, or to bring a more nutrients to the affected location.

During our initial consultation, through a series of questions, touching of various areas on the body which are related to the organ systems, taking of pulses, and observation of the tongue, I will be able to put together a health plan exactly formulated for the symptoms which you are experiencing.

Acupuncture is encouraged through all of life's stages.

It is beneficial in the treatment of hormonal changes, musculoskeletal aches and pains, acne, mental emotional and spiritual health matters, sleep disturbances, digestive discomforts, menstrual concerns, as well as pregnancy and postpartum support.

Personally, I started going to acupuncture when I was 13 years old. Initially for what I believed to be only physical health issues I was experiencing, but never knew acupuncture would be so good for my mental well being, and for gaining such a full body awareness as I did.

I feel like regulation of our nervous systems is such an important practice to partake in, and I hope that you will show your nervous system the support that it deserves.
